This Just In: Fight Like a Physicist

Fight Like A Physicist-2My copy of Fight Like a Physicist, by Jason Thalken, PhD, just arrived. This is YMAA‘s latest book. I served as Dr. Thalken’s editor, and it was a real pleasure.

Do you know what I call a good day at work? It’s when I’m reviewing a prospective manuscript and by page 30 I say, “Oh yes. We’re publishing this.” That was the case with Fight Like a Physicist.

Reflecting on the arrival of his first book, Dr. Thalken recently posted this note on his website:

Looking at the book again with fresh eyes, I can imagine it’s going to piss a lot of people off, and that’s fine. You can’t advance human knowledge without annoying the people who were happy with the the state of the world before you came along. All I can really hope for is that for every person who gets pissed off as a result of this book, two people start to ask tough questions about how they train or what it really means to be safe.

Here’s a look at the author in action:

Good stuff. This guy will go far.
