Recording with Raymond M. Wong, Author

I was in L.A. recording over the weekend, and one of my sessions was with my pal Raymond M. Wong. Ray is an author and fellow graduate of the MFA program at Antioch University Los Angeles. His book I’m Not Chinese: The Journey from Resentment to Reverence is now available from Apprentice House Press.

We made a little studio of my crappy hotel room, and Ray read a couple of excerpts from his work. I built an iso booth of cymbal stands and blankets. I must admit it was pretty cool.

Why spend a few thousand bucks at Ocean Way when you can record at the Rodeway Inn? This is a lot more fun.

Here’s a clip of Ray reading his prologue: Prologue IMG_4601 IMG_4604 IMG_4605
