Today I had a brief essay on the show Captain’s Log Project, on KXCI, Tucson. It’s a great program on one of my all-time favorite radio stations. Thanks to producer Amy A. for including my work. You can listen to the full episode here.

The Making of “Gongfu”
In this video, Paul Metaxas and I discuss the making of “Gongfu.”
Gongfu
I’ve been working on a series of percussion compositions. For this new piece, I used just one instrument: a mighty 38″ Paiste symphonic gong.
Big thanks to Paul Metaxas for his video direction.
“Why I Love . . . Mountains” in Sound on Sound Magazine
I have a short essay in the March 2020 issue of Sound on Sound magazine.
SOS has a regular column called “Why I Love . . .” When the column began, contributors wrote of their fondness for certain musical instruments and pieces of recording gear. I’ve noticed that lately the content has become more conceptual, more about the life around recording. That’s why I wrote my essay, “Why I Love . . . Mountains.” You can read it here.
Enjoy Spiders
What’s that? Another new drum video? Yes. Don’t fear the spiders.
