Now Streaming: When Breath Becomes Air, with Dr. Lucy Kalanithi

This week on Focus on Your Health I speak with Dr. Lucy Kalanithi. She is an internist and clinical instructor at Stanford School of Medicine. Her late husband, Dr. Paul Kalanithi, was a neurosurgeon at Stanford. His book, When Breath Becomes Air, recounts his path in medicine and his battle with the lung cancer that claimed his life when he was just thirty-seven years old. It is a New York Times best seller.

Paul grew up in Kingman, Arizona.

Recorded at Kingman Regional Medical Center, Kingman, Arizona.

At the E-String with Jaelyn Denise and Empire of Sound

On Saturday, January 30, I played at the E-String in Henderson, Nevada, with Jaelyn Denise. Also on the bill were our pals in Empire of Sound. It was a good time, and we raised money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

After we loaded out, karaoke began on the E-String stage. Certain members of our entourage performed a fun and raucous rendition of Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls.” I don’t know whether any video evidence of this exists.
