I’ve been doing a bit of Foley work with Shane Sattler at Kustom Sound and Media. The editorial side of it, his area of expertise, is nothing less than painstaking. My job is a lot more fun. For this particular film, it has included stomping on a tire, tossing around an old wheel, and hitting Shane with a purse. I’ll have you know it was his purse.
Ki Inspiring Thoughts
My review of Ki Inspiring Thoughts, by Steven M. Erickson, MD, is in the new issue of the Journal of Asian Martial Arts. That’s volume 20, number 4, available now.

Kustom Sound and Media
My buddy, Shane Sattler, runs Kustom Sound and Media (KS&M), a recording studio in Mohave County, Arizona. It’s pretty much a project studio on steroids. Shane does music, video, editorial, Foley, and a bunch of stuff I know nothing about. The guy is a ninja.
Yesterday we made a demo video for KS&M. I played drums and percussion; he took care of the rest. We had fun. I think that’s evident.
Introducing The Sonny Lamson Project
It’s been busy around here lately, and I haven’t said anything in this space. I thought I’d take a moment to write about my new musical endeavor.
I have been working on a fusion project with pianist Sonny Lamson, guitarist Eric Clemenzi, and bassist Steve Belleville. After a few months of writing and development, a couple of trips across the country, and several mad, reclusive days of rehearsing and recording, we have some material to share.
I’ve made it sound like a lot of work, and it was, but it was also way too much fun. We’re excited about this. Here is “No Parachute,” from The Sonny Lamson Project:
Welcome
Howdy. Welcome to the new tglafredo.com. Have a look around. Make yourself at home. Whatever you do, though, don’t hit the “escape” key.
